Formada no ano de 1991 na Finlândia por Ville Valo que cantava e tocava guitarra,Mikko ''Mige'' no baixo,logo Mikko ''Linde'' entrou na banda e tocava baixo e guitarra,e Ville além dos vocais chegou a tocar bateria também,e inicialmente com o nome de ''Kafferi'',eles escreviam algumas músicas até que Linde trouxe Pattaka Rantalla para a bateria e Ville ficou somente nos vocais e em 1995 mudaram o nome da banda oficialmente para H.I.M. que significa His Infernal Majesty.Em 1995 Antto se juntou a banda tocando teclado porém devido a alguns problemas com Ville ele logo sairia da banda.E No próximo ano a banda lançou seu primeiro Ep.e é considerado oficialmente o início do H.I.M. que no ano seguinte lançaria seu primeiro álbum,Greatest Lovesongs Vol.666 e contou com covers de Chris Isaack e Blue Öyster Cult das músicas Wicked Game e Don't Fear The Reaper respectivamente,esse foi o álbum que começou a abrir as portas para o H.I.M. e logo após o lançamento Antto e Pattaka saíram da banda e logo entraram Gas na bateria e Zoltan nos teclados.Em 1999 foi lançado o segundo álbum da banda Razorblade Romance e fez a popularidade da banda crescer ainda mais,e conquistar novos fãs principalmente na Europa,e a faixa Join Me In Death contribuiu muito para que a banda crescesse ainda mais,foi um ótimo álbum,as letras,melodias são perfeitas.Logo Zoltan sai da banda e para seu lugar entra Burton.O terceiro álbum da banda Deep shadows and Brilliant Highlights foi lançado em 2001 o que possibilitou que a banda se tornasse a mais bem sucedida do seu país e o Love Metal criado por eles estava crescendo e aparecendo cada vez mais,a banda começou a conquistar um legião de fãs cada vez maior,e lançaram o quarto álbum Love Metal e a banda começou a conquistar fãs não só na europa como em outros lugares do mundo e uma coisa que ajudou a divulgar a banda foi o Heartagram que é um símbolo criado por Ville e que seu amigo o skatista Bam Margera criaram e ele começou a divulgar o símbolo e através disso muitas pessoas acabavam conhecendo o som da banda e curtindo,e a banda começou a tocar em grandes festivais ao redor do mundo,lançar vários clipes dos quais Bam Margera começou a dirigir.Em 2005 lançaram já pela Warner o álbum Dark Light e mais uma vez a banda toca em grandes festivais e conseguiu ser a primeira banda finlandesa que ganhou disco de Ouro nos Estados Unidos,lançaram mais clipes e o resultado não poderia ser outro se não um sucesso cada vez maior,porém Ville passou por alguns problemas pessoais mas felizmente tudo acabou bem e em 2007 foi lançado o álbum Venus Doom e logo após o lançamento já tinha vendido muitas cópias e a música Passion's Killing Floor fez parte da trilha sonora do filme Transformers.A banda lançou em 2010 o álbum Screamworks: Love In Theory and Practice e a banda segue firme,com inúmeros fãs ao redor do mundo,milhões de álbuns vendidos e tocando em grandes festivais.Por mais que muitas pessoas achem diferente o estilo deles,por eles dizerem que seu estilo é Love Metal,fica difícil encaixá-los em outros estilos pois varia de acordo com as músicas ou seja,tem músicas que pendem pro Gothic Rock,outras pro Metal Alternativo,mas o Love Metal criado por eles é o que predomina.E o Heartagram é um símbolo que expressa bem o Love Metal ou seja, o amor e o ódio,vida e morte,felicidade e tristeza,tudo que é retratado nas letras do H.I.M. essa é uma das minhas bandas preferidas e vale a pena curtir pois são músicas pra se curtir desde quando está apaixonado até pra desilusões amorosas.
